Telling students their thoughts are "wrong" or "problematic" if they disagree with social or religious values promoted by some teachers and students is one way to indoctrinate students. This does not tell students HOW to think. It tells them WHAT to think. In these examples, Biblical truths are labeled as racial prejudice.
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition of microaggression is "a comment or action that … expresses a prejudiced attitude toward a member of a marginalized group (such as a racial minority) "
Many religious groups believe all lives matter and love conquers everything. These public statements, within our High School common areas, tell students their religious beliefs are a problem that promotes racism.
Many religious scriptures say the human race is the only race. This statement says their religious beliefs promote racism.
The cultural competency lessons being promoted by the Ohio Department of Education and NEA require people to see people as white people, brown people or black people. Seeing people as people, without focusing on physical characteristics, is presented as a problem that needs to be solved. Students are being told they must categorize people by skin color, or they are the problem.

" I’m appalled reading the book Stamped! "
- Concerned Community Member 07/07/21
Several students, parents and community members reported they tried to read the book, but were so offended by the racist, anti-USA anti-Christian opinions in the book, presented as facts, they could not complete the book.
